Configuring Bandwidth Notification Billing Estimated Reading Time: 1 Minutes The Bandwidth Notification service module emails your clients when they have reached a designated threshold for bandwidth usage. Usage is checked daily and if your client is close to or over their allotment they will receive an email. In order to begin billing for this service, you need to configure Ubersmith. Once all the necessary pieces have been configured, any current or new service based on the service plan will be ready. The configuration steps are as follows: Configure the Bandwidth Monitoring device module Add the Bandwidth Notification service module to your service plan. Configure the service module (below). Create a bandwidth billing service Configure the service plan with the service module fields (below). Associate your device to your service Configuring the Service Module In the Approaching Threshold field, select 2%, 5%, 10% or 20%. In the From Address field, enter the email address from which the notification will be sent. In the Overage Email Subject field, enter the subject of the email your clients will receive if they have gone over their allotted bandwidth. In the Overage Email Body field, enter the text that will be sent in the body of the message if they have gone over their allotted bandwidth. In the Approaching Overage Email Subject, enter the subject of the email your clients will receive if they are close to going over their allotted bandwidth. In the Approaching Overage Email Body, enter the text that will be sent in the body of the message if they are close to going over their allotted bandwidth. Click Show Variables to display a list of Ubersmith’s system variables you can use to personalize your emails.
