Configuring a Control Panel Host Estimated Reading Time: 3 Minutes Ubersmith's support for third party control panel software allows you to manage hosting accounts within Ubersmith. You can also automate the deployment of new accounts across multiple control panel servers. New control panel hosts can be added at any time, and new accounts can be deployed to these hosts automatically. Individual hosting accounts can be automatically or manually suspended or deleted, based on your client’s cPanel service status.Follow these steps to configure control panel devices:Create a control panel device type.Create a control panel device.Create a control panel host account.Test the control panel host by manually creating a host account.Creating Control Panel Device TypesYou will first need to add a control panel device type group, as a higher-level category, then add control panel device types to the corresponding groups in which they belong. Once the device type has been created, adding the control panel device module add the functionality.Create a Control Panel Device Type GroupThis step creates a main category to identify control panel devices within Ubersmith’s Device Manager.From the Ubersmith Dashboard, click Settings.The Ubersmith Settings page appears.From the Devices section, click Device Types.The Device Types page appears.Click Add New Device Types Group. The Add Device Type Group page appears.In the Name field, enter Control Panel Host.Click Save. The Device Types page appears.Create a Control Panel Device TypeThis step creates individual types grouped under the main device type group. For control panel devices, you will need to create different types for each control panel software you use, such as cPanel/WHM, DirectAdmin, and Interworx.From the Control Panel Host device type group, click add type. The Add Device Type page appears.In the Type Name field, enter Control Panel Host.Complete the remaining tabs, as necessary.Click Save.The Device Types page appears.Add a Control Panel Host ModuleFor each control panel device type, add the control panel device module to give it the control panel functionality.From the Control Panel Host device type, click modules. The Control Panel Host Device Module page appears.Click add module. The Add Device Module page appears.From the Module field, select Control Panel Host.In the Client Access field, select View Access to enable your client to view the control panel device or select Edit to enable them to take action on the device.Click Save.Create a Control Panel Host DeviceFrom the Device Manager Dashboard, click Add New Device. The Add Device page appears.In the Device Description field, enter Control Panel Host.In the Type field, select Control Panel Host.Complete the remaining fields and tabs, specific to your environment.Click Save. The View Device page appears.Create a Control Panel Host AccountIn the Control Panel Host section, click Edit. The Control Panel Host device module page appears.In the Software field, select the control panel software you are using.In the Hostname/IP field, click edit to enable the field, then enter your control panel software’s hostname/IP addressIn the Username field, enter your control panel username.In the Password field, enter your control panel password.In the Available for Account Provisioning field, select Yes.Click Save.Test your account.Manually Creating a Control Panel Host AccountFrom the Control Panel Host section, click Create Account. The Create Account page appears.In the Host field, ensure Control Panel Host is selected.In the Domain field, enter the website domain.In the Username field, create and enter the username.In the Password field, create and enter the password.Complete the Settings fields, for the control panel options needed. Use a blank value, 0, or unlimited to stand for unlimited access.Click Create. Ubersmith creates the new account on the control panel host.Click Show Accounts. All control panel accounts display.
