Quote Signing Process For Customers Estimated Reading Time: 3 Minutes When a company sends you a quote through Ubersmith, you review and sign it on a single web page. You do not need an Ubersmith account or password to do this. Note: This article describes the customer's view of the signing page. For the steps a sales user follows to build, approve, and send a quote, see Using Electronic Signatures. Opening Your Quote You can reach the signing page two ways: From an email. The company emails you a unique link to your quote. Anyone with the link can open it — no login is required. From the Client Portal, if you already have an account. Go to Billing & Services > View Quotes, then select the quote. The page title reads Quote until you sign, and Contract afterward — for example, "Quote 217: …" becomes "Contract 217: …". Reviewing the Quote The page shows the full quote document in a viewer, alongside a Details panel with: Created — the date the quote was created. Prepared by — the name of the person who created it. Expires — the date the quote must be signed by, if one is set. A Download PDF link, for a copy you can save. If the company offers more than one language, a language selector appears at the top of the page. Note: A quote is only viewable while it is waiting to be signed or already signed. If the link shows "This quote is not viewable," contact the person who sent it to you. If the Quote Has Expired If the Expires date passes before you sign, the page shows an Expired panel with the date it expired, and the signing form does not appear. Contact the person who sent you the quote for a new one. Providing Your Information If the form appears, fill in: Contact Information — your first and last name, company, email address, mailing address, and phone number. Some fields may already be filled in from your account. Payment Information — choose how you will pay, from whichever methods the company has enabled: an existing or new credit card, an existing or new ACH bank account, Check/Wire, or PayPal. Only the methods the company accepts appear. Note: If you choose PayPal, you complete the actual payment after you sign, not as part of the form below. The payment section does not appear if payment for this quote has already been arranged. Your bank may ask for extra verification before approving a new credit card, such as a one-time code or an in-browser confirmation. Follow its prompts if you see this step. Signing the Quote At the bottom of the form: Read the signature statement. It confirms you agree to the terms in the quote document shown on the page. Type your full name in the Signature field. Click Sign Contract. Note: Sign the quote promptly once you start. If the sales user changes the quote while you are viewing it, or if you take too long, you may need to reload the page and start again. After You Sign Once you sign, the page title changes from "Quote" to "Contract," the signing form disappears, and an Approval panel appears showing the date and time you signed, your name as recorded, and the IP address the signature came from. The Details panel and the document viewer stay in place, so you can still download or review the signed document. If you chose PayPal as your payment method, the page prompts you to click Pay Now via PayPal to complete payment. You will see a confirmation message once PayPal accepts or cancels the payment. The company also emails you a copy of the completed contract.
