Adding Opportunities Estimated Reading Time: 2 Minutes An opportunity tracks a potential sale for a new lead or an existing lead or client. Once a service is sold and its contract is signed, a lead converts to a client and its order is processed. Adding an Opportunity from the Sales Dashboard Click Sales in the left sidebar to reach the Sales landing page. The Add Opportunity panel is there. Under Lead/Client ID, choose New Lead and enter the lead's name, or choose the other option and enter an existing lead or client's ID (click search to look one up on the Find a Client/Lead page). In Name, enter a name for the opportunity, such as the service being sold. Set Status (Open, Won, Lost, or Canceled), Stage, and Type. Stage and Type options are configured for your instance. In Next Step, enter what happens next with the opportunity. In Expected Closure Percent, enter your estimated chance of closing the sale. In Expected Closure Date, enter the date you expect to close it. In Value, enter the expected revenue range. Click Add Opportunity. Adding an Opportunity for a Specific Lead or Client From an opportunities list or a client's Sales menu, click Add a New Opportunity (or Add Opportunity). This form has the same fields as editing an opportunity, since the lead or client is already known from the page you started on. Enter a Name for the opportunity. Set Status, Type, Stage, and Contact. In Last Action and Next Step, enter free-text notes. Set Expected Closure Date and Expected Closure Percent. In Price, enter the expected revenue range. Confirm or change the Owner. Click Save, or Save & New to add another opportunity. Note: The dashboard's Add Opportunity panel labels the revenue-range field Value. The full Add Opportunity form labels the same field Price.
