Notification Dashboard Estimated Reading Time: 2 Minutes The Notification Dashboard manages Notification Types (categories such as "Outage" or "Planned Maintenance") and the individual Notifications sent under them. A notification links to a support ticket: replies to the notification email become replies on that ticket (or on tickets linked to it), and it can optionally alert each recipient client's account team. Opening the Dashboard Go to Clients > Notification Dashboard. The page has two panels: Notification Types — lists each type with its status (Active/Deactivated) and edit/deactivate (or activate) actions. Use the Select status dropdown to filter the list. Current Notifications — lists individual notifications with sortable columns (Notification, Type, Status, Updated, Recipients) and a view/deactivate action per row. Use its own Select status dropdown to filter (defaults to Draft). Note: To add a new notification, click a notification type's name to open its detail page first. Adding a Notification Type Click Add New Notification Type (or add new in the Notification Types panel) to open the add form, or edit next to an existing type to change it. Viewing a Notification Type and Adding a Notification From the dashboard, click a notification type's name (for example, "Outage"). The View Notification Type page shows the type's Details (status, Notify Account Team, Replies will Open Linked Tickets, Assignment/Department/Classification/Priority/Impact defaults, From Address), its Subscribers panel, and a table of notifications that use this type. Click Add New Notification to create a notification under this type. Adding a Notification On the Add New Notification form, enter a Notification Name. Choose the Notification Type. Changing it fills Notify Account Team, Replies will Open Linked Tickets, Default From Address, and the Ticket Defaults fields with that type's defaults. Optionally enter a Ticket ID to link an existing ticket. If you leave it blank, fill in the Ticket Defaults section (Assignment, Department, Classification, Priority, Impact) instead — Ubersmith uses these to create replies' ticket when one doesn't exist yet. Click Continue to move to choosing recipients (association) for the notification. Note: Status is disabled while adding a notification — new notifications start as Draft. You can only set Status to Active after the notification has recipients (an association) and at least one message. Editing a Notification Open the notification (from the dashboard's Current Notifications panel, or from its notification type page) and click edit. Change any Details field. If the notification already has a Ticket ID, the Ticket Defaults section does not appear, since it only applies before a ticket is linked. Click Save. Deactivating a Notification or Notification Type Click deactivate next to a notification (in the Current Notifications panel or a notification type's detail page) or a notification type (in the Notification Types panel), then confirm. Deactivating a notification type does not delete its existing notifications.
