Enabling Raw Card Data APIs in Stripe

Overview

To tokenize existing, encrypted credit card data in Ubersmith when moving to Stripe, you must first enable access to Stripe's raw card data APIs. This feature is not enabled by default due to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance requirements enforced by Stripe and the sensitive nature of handling cardholder data.

Stripe Requirements and Process

PCI Compliance: Your business must comply with PCI DSS. Stripe and your business share responsibility for PCI compliance when handling raw card data.

Documentation Required: To enable raw card data APIs, you must contact Stripe Support and provide PCI compliance documentation and justification for enabling the feature.

You must complete this process before attempting to tokenize existing credit card data in Ubersmith via Stripe. Ensure your organization meets all PCI DSS requirements and has the necessary documentation ready.
