Two-factor authentication adds another level of security to your Ubersmith account. It requires a second form of verification, in addition to a user name and password. Two-factor authentication is available for admin, client, and contact users.

To use two-factor authentication login, you will need to first add it in Ubersmith and also install and configure an approved third-party, two-factor service on your mobile device. Ubersmith integrates with Authy and Duo for admin users and any time-based, one-time password (TOTP) token-generator application for client and contact users.

Steps

  1. From the Setup & Admin Dashboard, in the Global Settings section, click the User Authentication link.

    The Authentication Settings window appears.

  2. Click the Add New Two-Factor Module link.

The Add Two-Factor Module window appears.

On this page:

  1. On the Details tab, complete the following:

Module: Select the appropriate two-factor application from the list:

For admin users – Select either Authy or Duo.

For client or contact users – Select TOTP.

  1. On the Config tab, complete the following:

For admin users: Fill out the displayed fields based on the configuration information supplied to you from either Authy or Duo.

For client and contact users: no action is required.
