The Swift Usage Billing service module integrates with your Swift OpenStack platform to bill your clients for their monthly usage. Once your Swift usage service renews, your client’s usage stats and the total amount due for the previous period is calculated. 

In order to begin billing for this service, you need to configure Ubersmith. Once all the necessary pieces have been configured, any current or new service based on the service plan will be ready. The configuration steps are as follows:

1. Create a generic Swift usage service plan.
2. Configure your Swift device.
3. Add the Swift usage service module to your service plan.
4. Configure the service module (below).
5. Create a Swift usage billing service.
6. Configure the service plan with the service module fields.
7. Associate your Swift device to your service.

Configuring the Service Module

1. In the Swift API Type field, select swift_usage API or SwiftStats API.
2. In the Swift Usage API URL field, type your Swift API URL.
3. In the API Key field, type your Swift API key.
4. In the Secret Key field, type your Swift secret key.
5. In the Block renewal when Tenant ID is not specified field, select Yes to stop the service if it is not associated with a client or No to continue renewing the service even if there is not associated tenant ID.
