Security-Enhanced Linux, or SELinux, is a security component that is installed by default within the CentOS Linux distribution.

Unless you have a specific need for it, SELinux can cause problems with the installation of Ubersmith, specific to the Apache user being able to run shell level commands, as well as using symbolic links to define your Ubersmith document root.

While we do not have directives to accomodate Ubersmith's operation within the context of SELinux, if you encounter 'strange' problems during your Ubersmith setup, you may wish to consider configuring SELinux in 'permissive' or 'disabled' mode to see if it resolves the issues.
